In Early October (Sometime the festivities begin in late September) Ruidoso begins its Fall Festivities.  First is the Aspen Motorcycle Rally which attracts thousands of motorcyclists from all over the country.  Then is the AspenFest or Aspencade which began pretty much as a festival for local people but has become an attraction for people from all over the world.   Check the events schedule for further information and exact dates or telephone the Ruidoso Chamber of Commerce at (505) 257-7395.

In 2000, the Motorcycle rally was headquartered at the Ruidoso Civic (Convention) Center.  In 200, it is tentatively expected to headquarter at the Ruidoso Downs Race Track.

The ASPENFEST has many activities:  A car / Hot Rod show, a chili cook off, arts & crafts fair, tours and a parade.  Following are some photos of the 2000 parade.  The theme for the 2000 parade was to give thanks to all the fire fighters that "saved the town" from the forest fires we had this summer:
